Answers to Above Questions
1. Errors when playing Video on some computers with Windows NT or XP
With a standard install of Windows NT or XP there should be no problem, however if you get an error when the videos are
attempting to play the problem is from the initial install of your windows operating system. This can be corrected by
downloading and installing the Windows Codec for playing Indeo v5.0 Videos for Windows.
Click on this link to download and then run the IV5setup.exe to install the Windows Media Player Video Plug-in
2. Windows XP Firewall will not let me automatically update my software.
Windows XP Service Pack 2 installs a firewall onto your computer, you may need to enable port 21 to allow your
computer to allow the Saf-T-Pak CD to automatically update its software. Saf-T-Pak's software uses
http://www.saftpak.com and http://cdupdate.saf-t-supply.com to transfer training chapters as well as to check for program updates.
For further details on enabling ports in Windows Security Center you can check Microsoft's Knowledge Base Article #875357 at this link
Knowledge Base Article #875357
If you still receive an error updating the training software you can download and run a upgrade patch program here
to download the upgrade patch (5 mb 1-5 minutes on high speed internet)
3. Why do I get a Win32 error when trying to run the downloaded version of the software?
Internet explorer 6 will quite frequently partially download a file and indicate that the file is complete. You will typically receive a Win32 corrupt file error.
The following steps should help solve this problem; Clear out Internet Explorer’s temporary files and all offline content. Reboot your computer.
Retry downloading the file.
4. Why do I receive ODBC errors after installing the software?
The program uses Microsoft's SQL Server desktop engine to store data, to install the software you must enable File and Printer Sharing.
To enable File And Printer Sharing please click this link Knowledge Base Article #325860
You can check out Microsoft's Knowledge Base Article #839386, which describes this problem, at this link Knowledge Base Article #829386
As well Microsoft SQL Server uses port 1433 to send or receive information. If your firewall is blocking access to this port you will not be able to run SQL Server succesfully
and this port should be unblocked.

5. I took the training and did not receive a training record. What can I do?
As a first step, check that your printer is actively hooked up to the computer on which you took the training. Open a document and select "Print" from the
pull-down menu under "File". If the print job does not occur, go to your "Start" menu and "Settings". Right mouse click on the printer you want to use and ensure
that it is "Set as Default". Try sending another print job. If nothing happens, you’ll have to involve an IT person. If the print test is successful, load the
CD and it will auto-start. Select the training stream you studied – either Infectious or Diagnostic. At the main menu, select the "Write/Review/Print exam”
option near the top of the screen. Click on the date the training was completed and follow the prompts.
6. I took the test but did not do as well as I had hoped. Can I write the test again?
You may write the final test as often as you wish. To help with your review, final test results indicate from which chapter each question is taken. This training
CD allows an "open book" final exam. You may exit the testing at any time and the program will take you to the chapter from which the current question is taken.
Once you've done your review, simply select the "return to exam" icon and continue with the final.
7. I have one of your CDs. How many people may I train with it?
You may train up to 6 people per activation code, if you wish to complete your training on your home computer ensure that you enter in your name the same as your work computer.
8. I have a CD and would like to make it available to my staff from a server. Is this possible?
Yes. A network version is available. Please call Saf-T-Pak 800-814-7484 (North America) or 1-780-486-0211 (Worldwide) to set up this purchase and for technical guidance. The CD
version version can be installed to a server but it is still subject to the 6 user restriction.
9. Why does this CD cease to operate in March when the regulations change in January?
At a minimum, new regulations are published January 1 each year by IATA. The CD has been published with a 60-day grace period in hope
there will be no changes in the IATA regulations. Do not use this CD during the grace period if there have been changes in the
IATA regulations. This information can be accessed at http://www.saftpak.com/
10. Does this CD allow a student to take the course in more than one sitting?

completed.
11. Does your CD offer any printouts?

12. I see a prompt that suggests I register my Saf-T-Pak CD. Do I have to register it?

16. Why are these regulations constantly changing?
There are several levels of authorities involved stretching all the way to the United
Nations Committee of Experts. And every country has its own set of Dangerous Goods
Regulations. The regulations are dynamic and are changed in response to the demands
of shippers, couriers, airlines, and many levels of individual governments. The changes
are aimed at harmonization and making the shipment of Dangerous Goods as safe as possible
for all those involved.
17. I started the training, completed some of the chapters, then signed off.
When I wanted to complete the training, I had to start all over again.
As the CD (STP-875) can access both the Infectious training and Diagnostic training,
ensure that you have first selected the appropriate training stream. Next, make sure
you have selected the appropriate region (United States, Canada or Europe). Do not
select "New user". You should be presented with a prompt box with names of previous users.
Click on your name and you will be taken to the main menu. This menu should reflect
your progress and you can continue the training. If this doesn't work, please call
us at 800-814-7484 and we’ll walk you through a quick method to get you back to where
you left off.

http://cdupdate.saf-t-supply.com/ (IP address 216.194.79.40 port 21)
The program will use port 80 to check if updates are available and port 21 to transfer the information to you.
You can download and install the update from the following
location; (35 mb)
