News Release

Saf-T-Pak welcomes two new, larger Category B and Exempt specimen shippers to its shipping product family.

Hanover, MD (March 4, 2013)

Developed as a result of customer requests, Saf-T-Pak announces the launch of its new STP-270 and STP-270MD product line. “This launch introduces our largest ambient shipping system to date” said David Hebrank, General Manager of Saf-T-Pak. David points out that both systems are qualified as Category B shipping systems accommodating the safe transport of infectious substances in volumes up to 1 liter blood bags, or up to 12 100mL specimen containers. The larger dimensions of these new shippers are 15.5” x 12.5” x 5”, accommodating the payload requirements requested by Saf-T-Pak’s clientele.

“We are particularly excited about our STP-270MD (Medical Device), as it provides a solution for meeting government regulations pertaining to the transport of contaminated medical devices being returned to the manufacture for sterilization, repair or performance review” says Mr. Hebrank. In order to meet the requirements for shipping Used Medical Devices, the STP-270MD was designed and tested to ensure that the completed package would pass a number of requirements, and it is constructed in such a way that the system cannot leak its contents, break or be punctured under normal transport conditions. Additionally, this system was tested to ensure that the completed package would retain its contents when subjected to a drop test of 1.2 meters.

The launch of the STP-270 and STP-270MD product line demonstrates Saf-T-Pak’s commitment to providing superior products, manufactured to the highest quality standards, as defined by Saf-T-Pak’s Quality Management System.

Saf-T-Pak Releases its Compliance Training for Shipping of Infectious Substances and Related Biological Materials (Division 6.2 Dangerous Goods) Update for 2013

Hanover, MD (January 15, 2013)

Saf-T-Pak, well known as an industry leader for training and packaging for Category A, Category B, Exempt and Temperature Controlled shipping systems, announced today the release of its 2013 Division 6.2 Dangerous Goods Compliance Training.

National and international regulations for shipping infectious substances and related biological materials state that any individual involved in the transport of hazardous materials must be trained and certified and retain a record of this training. Saf-T-Pak’s compliance training simplifies the training process by eliminating the need to develop a training program that adequately educates and certifies the appropriate personnel.

“Saf-T-Pak has always been in the forefront regarding the importance of proper Infectious Substance shipping training and we strive to develop the most innovative options,” said David Hebrank, Saf-T-Pak’s General Manager. “We continue to offer public and private training seminars, as well as DVD, internet and downloadable training options. And this year we have developed the most up-to-date module available – Webinars! These web-based classes feature real-time discussions with a Saf-T-Pak Instructor, video packing demonstrations, hands-on package assembly and virtual training assessments. Webinars are the optimal solution for those who need Division 6.2 compliance training, but can’t spare the time away from the lab or office.”
