Saf-T-Pak was founded in 1988 with the mission to develop and distribute packaging specifically for the safe transport of infectious substances in accordance to the
regulations set forth by the US Department of Transportation, Transport Canada, the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and the International Air
Transport Association (IATA). On March 28, 1989, the company’s initial product offering became the first packaging system in the world to be certified by a national
authority, Transport Canada, for the safe transport of infectious substances.
Over ten years ago, Saf-T-Pak conducted its first Compliance Training Seminar for the proper classification, identification, packing, marking and labeling,
documentation and handling of infectious substances. Today, along with seminar style training sessions, Saf-T-Pak has added computer based training to take advantage of the
development and growth in both the internet and rich content multimedia technology.
Because many patient specimens that are shipped for research or identification must be kept within a specific temperature range, the Saf-T-Temp™ line of phase change
materials (PCM) was developed to provide customers with a full range of solutions to help protect their shipments from potential temperature extremes encountered in transit.
Recently, Saf-T-Pak became the exclusive distributor of the Laminar Medica line of insulated shipping systems in North America. The leading producer of temperature-controlled
shipping systems in Europe, Laminar products have become the standard for many pharmaceutical, clinical trial and logistics companies that depend on the temperature control
products to protect their valuable payloads. Additionally, Laminar Medica is exclusive distributor for Saf-T-Pak products in Europe.
